A Place to Call Home. A Life Full of Possibilities.
Providing safe, person-centered residential environments where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can thrive, grow, and lead meaningful lives in the Lehigh Valley.
Our Philosophy of Care
At East Penn Human Services, we believe a home is more than just a place to live—it is a foundation for independence and a gateway to the community. Our Community Homes(Residential Services) are designed to provide a supportive, family-like atmosphere that respects the dignity, choices, and unique goals of every resident.
We operate in full compliance with Pennsylvania 6400 Regulations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, and personalized care.
What Sets Our Homes Apart
-
Person-Centered Planning: We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. Every resident has an Individual Support Plan (ISP) tailored to their specific dreams, medical needs, and daily living goals.
-
Community Integration: Our homes are located in quiet, safe residential neighborhoods. We prioritize active participation in local life—whether it’s visiting a neighborhood park, shopping at local markets, or attending community events.
-
Skilled & Compassionate Staff: Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are more than just caregivers; they are advocates and mentors. They receive specialized training in behavioral support, health and safety, and the ODP (Office of Developmental Programs) quality standards.
-
24/7 Support: We provide around-the-clock supervision and assistance, ensuring that help is always available while still encouraging residents to exercise their independence.
Life in an East Penn Home
Our residences are modern, fully accessible, and designed to feel like a true home. We focus on:
-
Daily Living Skills: Assistance with meal preparation, personal care, and home management.
-
Health & Wellness: Coordination of medical appointments, medication administration, and nutrition planning.
-
Social Connection: Encouraging friendships within the home and maintaining vital connections with family and friends outside the home.
-
Transportation: Providing safe transit to day programs, employment, and social outings.
